Upcoming 10K 'Ruck March' to Benefit RGV Veterans

The local non-profit organization Roadrunner Ruckers of South Texas has partnered with the McAllen Vet Center to host the inaugural "Carry the Load Ruck March", set for Saturday, February 22, at La Vista Park, starting at 8:00 am. The Carry the Load Ruck March is a 10k (6.2 miles) ruck march with the course described as a 'simple out and back route', where participants may turn around at any point to make your own desired distance and/or pace. The event will also serve as a food drive for local veterans. "We will be taking food donations to benefit a local Veteran organization," reads a statement from the event's Facebook Page. "We are asking everyone that will be participating in the Ruck March to fill their rucks/backpacks with non-perishable, canned, and various food items that will be donated to the Tropical Veteran Drop-In Center food pantry in Weslaco."
